Overview
Day 1: Marrakech → Imlil → Toubkal Refuge (3,207m)
- Morning: Depart from Marrakech in the morning, enjoying a scenic drive to Imlil (1,740m), a charming Berber village.
- Trek to Refuge: After breakfast, start your trek towards Toubkal Refuge (3,207m), passing through the Berber villages of Aremd and Sidi Chamarouch (2,500m).
- Lunch: Stop for a packed lunch on the way and enjoy the stunning mountain landscapes.
- Arrival at Refuge: Arrive at the Toubkal Refuge in the late afternoon. Enjoy a warm dinner and prepare for the summit ascent the following morning.
Day 2: Toubkal Refuge → Toubkal Summit (4,167m) → Imlil → Marrakech
- Early Start: Begin your summit ascent early in the morning to catch the sunrise and the spectacular views from the top of Mt Toubkal.
- Ascent to Summit: The trail to the summit is challenging, with rocky terrain and possible snowfields (seasonal), but the panoramic views from the top are well worth the effort.
- Summit Views: Once at the summit, enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding Atlas Mountains, valleys, and distant peaks, including Jebel Sirwa.
- Descent: After taking in the views, descend to the refuge for lunch before heading back down to Imlil.
- Return to Marrakech: Transfer back to Marrakech, arriving by the evening.
